Erica French was born into an unstable household, both of her parents struggling with addiction and had problems with the law. Her grandmother took in Erica and her sister, caring for them as well as she could throughout their upbringing but struggling financially. Erica’s grandmother was later diagnosed with breast cancer. She thankfully survived to fight another day, but it was yet another obstacle for their family. Erica worked hard to keep her grades up despite all the challenges in her path. Thanks to the Do It Right Scholarship, Erica no longer has to worry about paying to pursue her passion of Practical Nursing.
